McConlogue approached Leo, a 36-year man who lives on the streets of lower Manhattan, on Thursday and gave him two options...............
After hearing the offer, Leo, who McConlogue described as very articulate and gifted, especially in on the topic of environmental issues, decided to take the coding option.
Leo is a very intelligent person. He decided to look at the big picture and take the option more likely to get him off the streets for good.
Not every homeless person is uneducated or a drug addict. NY is very cruel when it comes to individuals who become homeless. Sometimes shelters can more dangerous than the streets. If you have a drug addiction or have children there are programs that can help and those programs offer the very minimum. Bloomberg stopped a lot of programs that were meant to help people get on their feet.
Maybe it was fate that they found each other. I hope it works out for both of them and maybe something bigger can come from it.
