Don't get caught using eco-friendly light bulbs in Glenn Beck's office

To prove his case against global warming, which Beck labels a “load of socialist, communist crap,” the right-wing talk-show host announced his war against energy-efficient light bulbs.
On air, he asked a staffer to write a memo that threatened to fire anyone caught using one. The YouTube video of the moment was picked up by Grist.

Regardless of your climate change position you have to laugh. But feel bad for his employees.

But liberals won't laugh. They'll take it as a reason to rant about him. Just like Bill Maher calling a woman a name was a joke, but Rush Limbaugh using the exact same word was an obscene war on women.

I hear if you recycle in Beck's office you have to go to his school for re-education.

A statement like this is really a cry for attention and listeners (and sponsor $$$) etc.

It's about as genuine as some young tramp trying to launch (or revive) her career having a sex tape "accidentally" leak to the public.

He's heading for the flea market fringe like the guys that make a living traveling around to various conspiracy gatherings talking about moon landings or state fairs with their "free energy machines" the govt. is trying to keep quiet.

OSHA should put a stop to those mecury laced things in every workplace. This is what needs to be done in case one is dropped..........

Before Cleanup

  • Have people and pets leave the room.
  • Air out the room for 5-10 minutes by opening a window or door to the outdoor environment.
  • Shut off the central forced air heating/air-conditioning system, if you have one.
  • Collect materials needed to clean up broken bulb:
    • stiff paper or cardboard;
    • sticky tape;
    • damp paper towels or disposable wet wipes (for hard surfaces); and
    • a glass jar with a metal lid or a sealable plastic bag.

During Cleanup

  • DO NOT VACUUM. Vacuuming is not recommended unless broken glass remains after all other cleanup steps have been taken. Vacuuming could spread mercury-containing powder or mercury vapor.
  • Be thorough in collecting broken glass and visible powder. Scoop up glass fragments and powder using stiff paper or cardboard. Use sticky tape, such as duct tape, to pick up any remaining small glass fragments and powder. Place the used tape in the glass jar or plastic bag. See the detailed cleanup instructions for more information, and for differences in cleaning up hard surfaces versus carpeting or rugs.
  • Place cleanup materials in a sealable container.

After Cleanup

  • Promptly place all bulb debris and cleanup materials, including vacuum cleaner bags, outdoors in a trash container or protected area until materials can be disposed of. Avoid leaving any bulb fragments or cleanup materials indoors.
  • Next, check with your local government about disposal requirements in your area, because some localities require fluorescent bulbs (broken or unbroken) be taken to a local recycling center. If there is no such requirement in your area, you can dispose of the materials with your household trash.
  • If practical, continue to air out the room where the bulb was broken and leave the heating/air conditioning system shut off for several hours.

Anyone calling a CFL "Eco-Friendly" has to be a green-moron.

Because they aint. they may use a little less elecricity, but they are far from friendly to the environment.

Seriously? How stupid do people have to be to think this lengthy process to simply clean up a broken light bulb means it is eco-friendly? Look at the directions!!! It is in the form of a hazmat cleanup. Turn off the air conditioner for several hours? Contact your local government on disposal steps? Get everyone out of the room for 5-10 mins?

Now compare that to an incandescent.

1. Get a broom and a garbage can.
2. Pick up the large broken pieces carefully and throw in the trash.
3. Sweep up the smaller pieces into a dust pan, dump in the trash.
4. Follow up with a vacuum if needed.

What the hell is wrong with you eco idiots? Seriously, you can't be this stupid can you?
