The Tea Party's maniacal, principle-less intent to support and do whatever they can to throw vacuous mud at the president in a self-enriching, egoistic power-grab, aimed at nothing other than fostering their own personal comfort and luxury, might get in the way of such cooperation. It is difficult to work with such a body of slimy perspective without the adverse impact of getting slimy, yourself, as a result, adversely impacting one's own honorable cause.

I think that's still the case, but your example was a bad one of a possible vector for cooperation due to the antisocial nature of the Tea Party perspective itself. Uniting together to address something runs counter to the egoistic self-interest that the Tea Party movement promotes.
It's hilarious to see Bots advocating war against Syria.
I can't wait to see Dem Congressmen posturing for war on TV. Although maybe they'll just vote rather than debate to avoid that embarrassment.
