No, what he's saying is what he said. And your paraphrasing of it wasn't accurate.

Yeah...there have never been religious fanatics.
A non-answer. Pure deflection.

What about them? No one is advocating for taking away anyone's beliefs here.
Nor does the pledge force anyone to believe. People are free to not say the pledge.

If one believes that removing, "under god" from the pledge somehow damages their faith...then their faith probably is pretty weak to begin with.
And if someone believes that the words "under God" constitute discrimination against them, then their emotional stability is pretty weak to begin with. They need to get a grip.

No. But there are a fair number of people who seem to have the belief that god is both an American and a Republican.
In your words:

I agree. Some people want to remove critical thinking and analysis from our schools to an even greater extent by insisting that leftist political ideologies are equivalent to science.

They should decide to leave it as "under ________." Let people fill it in with whoever they please or nothing at all. That way, it could be Jesus, Allah, Krishna, Buddha, Baha'u'llah, Shango or nobody. Hahaha.

The whole idea that Christians ae some kind of marginalized, persecuted group
in this country would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic and
dishonest.
They seem to like martyrdom. It's a big facet of their biblical dogma.

Baptist, Episcopal, Morman, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim ? Which church ?

I don't see any "well recognized church doctrine" in those 2 words.

Belief in God is personal.
There should be no religious interference in Government at all.
WE are not the middle east.
We are also not the Soviet Union so non believers cannot oppress those who believe from worshipping in any form in their private lives.

Sad that Christians are constantly being persecuted in America of so called peaceful and loving atheists who wants to turn this nation into unbiblical and unGodly as well as making the communists more happy. They don't respect the majority (78% of Americans are Christians) and wants to please themselves. Atheists are an embarrassment to this nation, and no wonder why we are in decline. I respect people who don't believe in God, but keep it to yourself and stop challenging any religion in public. Let us have the way the majority want! Pretend first amendment never existed...

Ummm...I'll just state these facts again:

The whole idea that Christians ae some kind of marginalized, persecuted group in this country would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic and dishonest.

First off, better than 70% of people in the US self-identify as Christians. Then take into account the fact you cannot drive six blocks in any little town anywhere in the nation without seeing a church or two, and that's leaving aside the increase in huge mega-churches that seat thousands and thousands of congregants.

Beyond that, Christians have their own publishing companies, radio stations, television networks, advertising firms, record labels, retail chain franchises, clothing lines, etc., etc.

And that is all well and good. That is how it should be. This is a free country and if a group of Christians want to involve themselves in capitalism for profit or ostensibly to spread "The Word" or what have you, that's great! And I'll fight to the death for their right to do so and to have their houses of worship and for them to practice whatever religion they want in whatever way they want as long as it harms nobody else and impinges on nobody else's rights.

But, realizing all these facts, let's not be disingenuous and turn around and try to pretend Christians are some minority with no rights who are treated shabbily or otherwise persecuted. Of all the ridiculous nonsense on the internet (and I think we can all agree that's a LOT of ridiculous nonsense) this is among the most ridiculous and nonsensical. of so called peaceful and loving atheists who wants to turn this nation into unbiblical and unGodly as well as making the communists more happy. They don't respect the majority and wants to please themselves. Atheists are an embarrassment to this nation, and no wonder why we are in decline. I respect people who don't believe in God, but keep it to yourself and stop challenging any religion in public. Let us have the way the majority want! Please stop being a victim. The Majority do not want a religious state.
