Do we ban knives after banning guns? I'm pretty sure knives will move up to 81%.

Actually, murder is the problem. Guns are the tools that many murderers use, but that doesn't make them the problem. Nor is there any way to guarantee that if guns are taken out of the picture the murders will stop. After all, there are only about a million other things which could be used to commit murder.

Why are you so focused on guns instead of being focused on the societal and economic problems which cause people to commit crime?

Personally I don't have any problems with shot guns or rifles. So long as they are not semi automatic / automatic or have large magazines attached, and you are not carrying or shooting them in an urban area.

What would happen if all guns were made illegal and all law abiding citizens turned every gun in, every one of them. (Yeah I know all the guns would never be turned in, just say with me on this). Only on duty Police officers would be allowed to carry guns.

Then all firearm deaths would stop right?

And would all the criminals that have guns turn them in?

Would all the now unarmed citizens become easy crime targets?

* A 1982 survey of male felons in 11 state prisons dispersed across the U.S. found:[21]

• 34% had been "scared off, shot at, wounded, or captured by an armed victim"
• 40% had decided not to commit a crime because they "knew or believed that the victim was carrying a gun"
• 69% personally knew other criminals who had been "scared off, shot at, wounded, or captured by an armed victim"[22]

And what about us Alaskans?

How would our native people that rely on substance hunting feed their families?

And what would you do if this guy came into your camp or you meet him on a hike?

From what I can tell, most of the anti-gunners would try to talk nice to him and convince him that he didn't need to attack them.

For the rest of us, who understand that predators are predators and not to be reasoned with, I guess we'd have to follow the rule of you don't need to outrun the bear, you just need to outrun your slowest companion.
