Lose to who? Ron Paul or Fed Thomson? Romney and Huckabee had already pulled out. McCain nosedived in the polls the second Palin opened her mouth. McCain would have had a fighting chance and respectable loss if he'd gone with Huckabee.

PALIN SAVED HIS CAMPAIGN! Look at the polls, look at the $ flow into his campaign both pre and post Palin. Again, Republicans HATE McCain. They had abandoned him. Palin was the pick to get the Republican base on board.

You know he really wanted Lieberman which would have been very interesting.
McCain is a Democrat, of course he wanted to pick a Democrat. The Republican base would have burned down his campaign had he done that.

McCain lost the GOP base.... until he selected Palin. Look at the polls, look at the campaign donations. Before McCain picked Palin, many Republicans were going to just sit at home and accept an Obama victory which in their eyes is not much different than if the senile Democrat McCain won.

Palin lit a fire under the campaign.

Huckabee is clown. McCain would have killed his campaign by doing that. The GOP has three bases, ignoring the largest of the three would have been a disaster. He needed the classic liberal Palin on the ballot, not the Bible Thumping Christian Democrat Huckabee.

Palin did not save his campaign, she made it a joke. She was picked to win over conservatives and that's the only reason. Yes the polls were in her favor when she was first announced but she quickly became a liability.

She was never a liability. Dumb racist Joe Biden is a liability. John McCain is a liability. Palin is the one that actually kept the thing close in the last few months.

Many Republicans were ready to say f it and vote Obama before McCain picked Palin.

just because the leftwing corporate media slammed the heck out of her doesn't make it the truth. Palin didn't hurt herself politically until she bailed on the Alaskan Gov.ship early.

YEAH! Those unionized thugs, the ones who run into burning buildings when everyone else is running away. Just what the hell are they thinking?

What Sarah was thinking was, how can I make money off of them? It's what grifters do.

Obviously it has escaped your grasp that Sarah Palin has not lived in Alaska for more than two years now. She sold her property and moved to Arizona. Since she is no longer an Alaskan resident, she is not qualified to run for any political office in Alaska. She could probably run against McCain in Arizona, if she wanted, but she cannot run against Begich or any other Alaskan politician.
And yet, it remains a fact that the only state that has experienced her as an elected official has completely rejected her. That's an inconvenient truth for you, isn't it.
