This is starting to get national attention. It was a small story yesterday, but now mediaite and the dailymail have picked it up.
Voluntary manslaughter charge is a joke. Cops say he charged them with guns drawn is laughable and they changed that part of the story. This is murder, pure and simple.
He's sort of lucky the homeowner didn't blow him away. This is the ultimate scare scenario trotted out by gun nuts: scary black man trespassing and scaring occupants of an isolated house in the middle of the night and the right to take action without waiting for slow 911 response. Unfortunately it was the cop who had the shoot first mentality.

The incident began early Saturday morning when Jonathan Ferrell survived a severe car crash—one so bad police believed he had to climb out the back window—and sought aid at a nearby house. Not recognizing the man banging on her door, the resident called the police. Officers say that when they responded, Ferrell charged them, and after an unsuccessful attempt to stop him, Kerrick fired several shots, killing the twenty-four year old ex-Flordia safety.
The cop screwed up and will face charges and must live with killing an innocent man.
But only an idiot could call it "murder, pure and simple."
The so-called "motive" was that the THREE cops were scared! The cop probably thought there was no risk. After all, cops murder unarmed people regularly these days! Turns out that the victim was unarmed and had just survived a bad car wreck. He was innocently looking for help. He wasn't a criminal! In my opinion all 3 cops should be charged with murder. If it had been 3 civilians and one of them shot this guy, all 3 would probably have been charged! Coward cops are above the law!
The Chief of Police in Charlotte (who is black) had to try to justify this murder by using words like "charged" and "viciously" in an attempt to sway public sympathy.
