I have no problem with Christians who model themselves after Christ, my problem is with the hypocritical so called Christians who are the exact opposite of Christ yet wear their religion like a badge of honor.
They have terms like "Islamaphobe " and " Homophobe ", but not one for "Christianphobes ". How come?
Because the ones denigrating and persecuting Christians, are the ones inventing the titles.
Oh, please. This ludicrous, baseless nonsense that somehow Christians in this nation are being persecuted.
What complete BS.
More than three-quarters of American citizens self-identify as Christians. That's point one.
Furthermore, Christians have very powerful lobbying power with the government. Beyond that, Christians have their own television networks, radio stations, publishing companies, retail business chains, advertising firms, lines of clothing, record labels, and on and on.
Not to mention you can't drive six blocks in any populated area of the country without seeing at least one church (or chrch billboard ad or huge mega-church, etc.)
And as I always say--that is fine. All well and good. This is how it should be. Christians are (and should be) free to engage in all these things. This is a free country and it is the right of Christians to have this power, property and influence. And they do have all these things.
So let's not turn around and pretend that Christians are somehow persecuted or marginalized in American society.
Because that is nothing but one huge crock of dung.
IMO, Atheists don't believe in the existance of a Creator God, therefore it's hard for them to argue against a concept that they feel doesn't even exist.
Instead, most anti religious ferver comes from those who believe in something. These are those persons who will believe in most anything that conforms to their way of thinking. The faithful Christian is often dogmatic in their beliefs, thus becomes the angst from the person whose views, or conduct, excludes them from said dogma.
Athiests, on the other hand, often approach life from a logical perspective. Again, is it logical to waste time arguing over dogma that he/she doesn't even ascribe to, in the first place? No.
I get along quite well with Athiests, especially those who purpose to live their lives to make the world a better place in which to live
Yep, perfectly logical that everything that exists suddenly emerged from nothing and for no particular reason.

Not to mention that it's on their money, in their courtrooms, parroted by their politicians, etc. But, oh! They're so hard done by. So persecuted.

Yep, it's so much more logical to think that an invisible supernatural being who controls our fates suddenly emerged from nothing in order to poof the universe into existence.
Oh, wait...what's that old cop-out? Yes, that's right...god is eternal and exists outside of space and time.
Religious people always concerned me. They believe in a book that is more mythology than fact and an invisible entity they were told as a child would watch them all through their lives and at the end would judge them. How do they know this? Someone told them so.
Today we have the silliness of Muslim extremist killing people in he name of Allah. Christians pointing fingers and killing Muslims in the name of freedom and protection. Of course we have the Jews sitting back laughing at the whole thing while raking in the dough.
If Christians and other religious people behave as badly as they do while believing in eternal damnation then what would they be like if they knew the truth?
The Dalai Lama once said something like, 'the best argument against Christianity is Christians themselves.'
No, no one is forcing Christians to get an abortion but they do want to force Christians to go against their conscience and pay for them. Look up the HHS Mandate. That isn't live and let live at all.
Waaaaaa!
We all pay for things we don't agree with. I don't agree with paying taxes to send our military men and women to die for the MIC.
You learn to get over it.
