No, goes to show that everyone who carries a gun isn't nuts. Was it wrong for him to defend himself and his sister?

WHAT? You mean there already ISN'T heavy regulations on this industry? There are over 2000 laws concerning guns, there is already a requirement that all gun purchases from a licensed firearms dealer require a background check, and there are already bans on certain weapons.

What could you possibly add to the mix, that would prevent a CRIMINAL from doing what they are already doing? ANY law or regulation you want, will ONLY affect law abiding citizens. What are you going to do, make it illegal to own a gun. If it's illegal for a felon to own a gun, and you catch a felon with a gun, what do you have? Surprise!!! Criminals don't obey the law, so passing a law won't have any affect on the criminal. It won't make it any more difficult for them to get weapons either.

Do you know how hard it is, to legally buy and own a gun in Mexico? Mexico has some of the strictest gun control laws on the entire planet, as well as one of the highest annual death tolls as a result of gun violence.

You know, There are a LOT of drugs that are illegal, yet there seems to be a proliferation of Drug availability. People find ways to smuggle them into the country, or make them. More drug laws isn't having an effect on this.

All new gun laws will accomplish, is making it more difficult for a law abiding citizen to obtain one, or own one. Nothing else.

With some luck, the chick (accomplice) gets charged with felony murder and spends a couple decades in prison.

Huh?
"You're a Nut Case" .. you say?

Tell you what genius, find me a law that the criminal element will follow and .. I will do the same!

Until then .. SHOVE your 'laws'!
OMG I never thought of that!! Wow!! it's so true. Criminals don't follow laws, so why have any?

Speed Limits, gone. Hell if you're going to speed, you're going to speed.
Drug laws, gone. Doesn't stop anyone anyway.

In all sincerity this article is a pretty good example to why gun laws should be stricter. As far as we know this situation played out like this: A possibly known criminal (since he was associated with a woman who was facing charges on drugs, it's a good possibility that he might have a record as well) carrying what MAY HAVE BEEN A legally obtained gun, stole a car and when confronted he pulled his weapon and opened fire. The former marine, who considering how quickly he was let go from custody, probably did not have a record and probably would have been able to legally own a gun, pulled his own weapon and protected his family.

Would any of the "guns for all" people suggest that if it turns out the deceased was a drug addicted, criminal that he should legally be allowed to carry a firearm?

Never stop fighting the anti gun asshats. I have been fighting them for 30 years and we have won, but like fighting the terrorists they have to win only once and we have to keep winning. Its a never ending fight but the good thing is that gun owners are the most tenacious people on earth. the weakest pro gun mom would eat all the sandy hook mothers for lunch.

It's a good thing you don't get any say, and that no one hears you. You should really consider leaving the USA.

I guess it's a good thing you don't have any say on who gets to live in the USA, right? Why would you suggest that the poster should leave?

Also, while we're at it can you answer my original question as it pertains to OP's article?
Would you support the "right" of the deceased to be legally allowed to carry a firearm if we find out that he was a drug addicted, criminal?

He just regurgitates the same old tired garbage. Facts aren't important to LSD's, just raw emotion and shrill, hand-shaking vehemence over their position.

Former Marine fatally shoots suspected car thief | www.kirotv.com

A career criminal driving a stolen car, with his criminal girl friend, gets shot while stealing ANOTHER car. It's too bad the Marine had to do this, but society is better off with this criminal out of it.
So what's your point, it worked out fine in this one specific incident, good for the good guys.
