I don't buy mass-produced chocolate because it uses the slave labour of kidnapped children. Children who will never taste chocolate in their lives. How is that tantamount to blackmail?
I know in the long run, it probably won't make a difference, but I have to do what's right for me. I have to make choices I can live with.

organized boycotts have an element of coercion to force the company to do something the organizers what them to do, thus the element of force.

again that is fine AS LONG AS it is only you doing the boycotting. when you organized a group of people to boycott a company, THEN you are adding an element of coercion to the equation, and THAT makes it blackmail.
