As an aside, it's nice to know there are still a few people with the fortitude to stand on principle, even when the opponent is the whole of the US government
Bill Binney is one of the bravest people I've ever met. He was even courageous enough to let me drive his car when we went out to lunch.
This is such a disgrace. I can't wrap my head around it.
But remember folks: this is the land of the free. Repeat it. This is the land of the free.
Promoting "Freeedum and Democraci" from shore to shore and country to country. LOL
With the NSA, DHS, Patriot Act, Militarized Police State and other infringements on our rights, and on others around the world, the above propaganda variant is being heard less and less in this country.
City-Data is a privateIllinois-based social networking and information website that presents data and information relevant to U.S. cities. City-data.com is owned and operated by Advameg, Inc.[2] According to Quantcast, which directly measures the traffic to City-data.com, as of May 7, 2012, it is ranked as 72nd largest website in the United States with over 13 million visitors per month.[3] The website was created in 2003.[4][5]
Question: does anybody on this site believe for one second that the NSA doesn't specifically target all politicians (on both sides of the aisle) and have detailed charts on each and every one of them? That kind of consolidated information could be effectively used to "keep them in line" don't you think?

Not many people are buying it anymore.
It doesn't matter whether we "buy it" or not. The machinery of tyranny have been put into place. Now they are refining the tools of repression. The last step will be the deployment of fleets of drones so that this whole nation becomes a world that even George Orwell would not believe. How soon will everything be in place for that time when the Chinese take over?
Obama (like any other modern president) is nothing more than the media puppet of those who wish to bring a silent corporate authoritarianism to the world.
Stop hating on a mere individual actor in the movie and concentrate on who is writing the script.
The good thing about all this is that empires from the dawn of humans have kept track of their citizens, so nothing has really changed.
The bad thing is the level of technology that has been attained. Orwell, Huxley, Philip K. Dick- none of them could see this near-future that is becoming the here-and-now. Imagine what sort of surveillance that can be done with nanorobotics and what descends from that? Or what sort of literal direction the same tech can be made to give those hosting them?
The Senate Intelligence Committee yesterday held a hearing, ostensibly to investigate various issues raised about the NSA's activities. What the hearing primarily achieved instead was to underscore what a farce the notion of Congressional oversight over the NSA is.
In particular, the current chair of the Senate Committee created in the mid-1970s to oversee the intelligence community just so happens to be one of the nation's most steadfast and blind loyalists of and apologists for the National Security State: Dianne Feinstein. For years she has abused her position to shield and defend the NSA and related agencies rather than provide any meaningful oversight over it, which is a primary reason why it has grown into such an out-of-control and totally unaccountable behemoth.
This explains why Nicki Samantha Adams tried to friend me on Facebook and said she knew all about me.
