Today’s news that the USA is now the world's largest producer of energy is not surprising, but it is significant. It is a significant reminder to look beyond Saudi Arabia. We cannot overlook the importance of the USA and Russia as big energy producers in the world.

USA is overtaking Russia's oil & gas industry

For the benefit of all that are ignorant enough to blame the Obama administration of not supporting more offshore drilling while many of us knew that this was not the case...

Sorry Sic... but Bammer does not get credit for what is going on in America against his will. It is an absolute FACT that Bammer and company have worked to reduce the amount of drilling in places controled by the federal government. However, they cannot stop private land development.

Probably partly true. It is also true that the country is not spiraling down the drain due to all these suffocating regulations.

I will say, I am a bit worried about all this fracking. The consequences are not yet known. Good for the economy in the short term, but so was DDT.

Give it a rest. Obama has been incessantly blamed by the wingnuts for controlling oil prices, which in itself is crazy and stupid to believe, so make up your mind...is he preventing more energy production or not? You cannot have it both ways...

Good news, I suppose. But with oil companies/refineries seemingly gouging us at the pumps (vehicle fuel) - what benefit is the consumer/country going to see?

Nah, not really. But it does throw some water on the notion that "Bammer" is killing the industry.

You get a ****ing grip poster. I stated a fact...that the right wing BS concerning Obama and oil production was false. How does that express my personal feelings about drilling and fracking? It's amazing that you and others have a really difficult time comprehending the purpose and intent of a post or thread.

no I wont give it a rest. Obama has consistantly worked to limit oil production in any way he can control. that is a fact.

at the same time, technology and new discoveries have led to private land (beyond control of government) development.

If the US is leading the world in production, it is doing so against the will of the president.

pretending that obama has done something to make America the worlds leader in energy production is simply a lie. you should not repeat lies.

Like GI Joe says, now you know and knowing is half the battle!
