What did the Republicans think would happen when they shut down the government?

Last I knew, it was the democrats that refused to sit down and negogiate. Not that I am in love with either party but let's keep things straight.

Not really since they don't even have a right to be in this country. You sound like you are glad that they are excersing their so-called freedom of speech to make unwarranted demands on our country. Am I right?

eight Democratic Representatives and 200 others arrested at today's rally.

Democratic lawmakers arrested during immigration protest - NBC Politics

As clarified in post 50 the reps weren't arrested for being on park land; it was for a sit-in, disrupting traffic.
