I was just reading the results of the CNN poll on 'who is to blame on the shutdown'. One item I noted was that 75% of Women say that a default would be a bad thing, but only 57% of Men think so. I know a default would not really impact me, I have long since pulled all my $$ from all accounts, I raise my own food and meat, and I grow the feed for them. One third of all local business transactions are now via barter. I have both home made wind and sun based solar.

Women want shopping money is all that poll tells me.
Tells me that the majority of Women and Men believe the Republican Shutdown is a bad thing, it is just that more women know it than men. Psssst, to have those numbers for either group means many Repubs believe the Republican Shutdown is a bad thing. I wonder if you realize what that will mean at the next elections, nope I bet you don't and still won't after you lose the House and other elected political positions.
I suppose the right is more masculine in outlook and the left is more feminine in outlook - gender stereotypes don't apply to all or even most people, but it is enough to make a difference in the percentages. I don't know about the shutdown, but in the last election there was huge variations among women. While the gender gap is there no matter how you slice it, married women and white women voted for Romney over Obama.
