This is a question that always irks me about equal rights. Men and women are equals under the law yet women do not have to sign up for selective service. Men however face not being able to vote an ability to get college loans should they not sign up for selective service. I want to know besides "it's the law" why women don't have to sign up for selective service.

If men and women are equal, then why is it going to be illegal to charge women more for health insurance but it's legal to charge men more for life insurance?

If men and women are equal, then why do female health issues receive ten times the funding than men's health issues?

If men and women are equal, then why does VAWA require domestic violence services for female victims but only allows, not requires, for services for men who are victims?

If men and women are equal, then why do we devote billions to encourage female education but none to boys, even though women make up the majority of college students?

If men and women are equal, then why does a new mother automatically receive custody of a newborn while the new father has to sue at his own expense if he wants custody, even if he is the proven father?

If men and women are equal, then why is it legal to have a female-only professional organization, but illegal to have one for men?

If men and women are equal, then why does Title IX shut down men's sports teams if not enough women want to participate in sports, but does not shut down women's teams if not enough men want to participate?

It goes far beyond selective service. While feminists constantly complain about equality for women, the reality is that the only areas in the law where the sexes are not treated equally, it is men who are discriminated against, not women.

I think that both males and females should have to sign up for selective service. Since there hasn't been a draft in ages, it really doesn't make any difference in daily life.

A better question is why does anybody have to sign up for selective service.

I can't tell where you are coming from. Do you think the Selective Service should be amended to compel women to register when they turn 18?

I think I'm in favor of that. But good luck getting social conservatives on board.

Because it's in the country's best interest to encourage access to birth control and prenatal care.

Ok, look up what the VAWA stands for, research why the law was implemented, and then get back to us.

Because women still make up the minority of college professors, CEO's, engineers, congresspeople, presidents, positions of power, etc.

Because there's good evidence that keeping children with their mothers has better outcomes for the children. Also, breastfeeding.

It's not. Now you're just making up stuff. Oh wait, you were doing that all along. Why am I even bothering replying to this again?

How many female high school football teams do you know of?
