True. The fact that you would show up on even the lowest end of our scale must be an accomplishment for you.
Take a look at what you originally wrote. It has to be one of the stupidest things anyone has ever said on this forum. Obviously something has to exist in order for it to be discovered.

Look, I suppose we can find negative things about all of the people we honor, but none are of us are perfect and we all have something in our closet. If you find something about this person to admire, then by all means Honor Them. It does not mean all have to honor them, but stop the criticism and let those who celebrate them, have at it!
A British immigrant I know remarked on how odd it is that America has a holiday about Columbus. Not because he was an a-hole or because other white men seem to have gotten to the Americas before him, but because Columbus never set foot in North America.
Isn't this ironic?
He was only concerned with the Caribbean, and if I remember correctly, formed a community there in which he tried to rule, until the Spanish crown removed him and replaced him with another man to rule the "city".
As I have aged I have grown to like the thought that Columbus Day is more of a day honoring the spirit of exploration by Mankind.
A day to honor those Vikings who set out in their absurdly small vessels westward (I recently returned from a cruise from Norway, visiting Iceland, Greenland and St. John's of Newfoundland; I was struck by how long a voyage they survived, and how many probably did not survive).
A day to honor that same spirit of exploration by Columbus (who, realizing that he did not discover a new route to India or whatever, nevertheless was able to return to home, report his findings, and set out on the same path several more times).
A day to honor the spirit of the other explorers: John Cabot, James Cook, Marco Polo, Vasco Degama, Sir Richard Burton, Roald Amundsen, Neil Armstrong, and a host of others.
I think it is an example of the need we have to look honestly at our origins and beliefs in hopes of evolving with the benefit of lessons learned. Most of us, don't fear knowledge, we use it.
Oh, really? You don't fear knowlege? You use it? Hahahahahaha!
If you don't fear knowledge, why do you feel the need to trash our history and rewrite it?

Yes. They all discovered the Americas.
You've brought up Snooki before and I've pointed out to you that Long Island is not in NJ. Your inability to learn makes having a conversation very difficult.
