Are you implying that people are hoping for these things to occur? Hardly. But there is a distant curiosity regarding how man would prevail under such circumstances. We are an advanced species, and we have the capacity to influence our fate. At the same time, with the idiots we have running the country today, it's painful to think about what the final results would be. Probably would go down something like the movie "the road". You can also bet they would be using the disaster as an excuse to collect our weapons, leaving us vulnerable... Just the way the politicians want us.
That's why I keep 40 lbs of rice in my pantry, along with over 20 lbs of dried beans. Wouldn't be a very bountiful time for myself, but at least I would be able to eat. I encourage others to do the same. We are living in tense times I'm afraid.
Imagine this creates severe disruption for 2 years.
You need:
Energy for heat
refrigeration
potable water
waste disposal
adequate nutrition
replacement clothing
Defense from miscreants
That's not an exhaustive list, and each of that short list is, in itself, a requirement for many things. Just think... Imagine life without toilet paper, tampons, condoms, the pill, toothpaste and toothbrushes, salt, fresh produce....
And that's just a tiny taste of what changes when the infrastructure breaks.

Which is why I'm heading to a land far away...
Although the terrain is considered harsh, it is suitable for growing, has cheap land, and rain is a sure thing.
The town only has 30,000 people, but it's a good place to ride a super volcano out.
Meh.
I've lived just south of Yellowstone all my life, and have been shaken by more than one earthquake, but I haven't heard any roaring recently.
The thing about the ring of fire is: when the earth shifts in one place, it doesn't always trigger events in other places. In fact, a coastal earthquake is as likely to relieve some of the pressure on the Yellowstone caldera as it is to increase it.
The caldera is like a bowl halfway full of Jello. It sometimes sloshes around, and other times becomes stable. Neither can be predicted with any certainty so far as to when or how severe an event will happen or may become.
One thing is for certain. If Yellowstone ever blows, there is no good place in the United States to hide. The effects will be an extinction event for most of the North American continent, according to the fossil records. What's left won't be fit to live in.
By the way- a caldera is not a volcano. A caldera is hugely bigger- Yellowstone's is hundreds of miles around, and it will collapse, not explode.

Not to question your core belief....But, you wouldn't also be in Real Estate...Would you?
