This was the week when we decided to pay the bills we have now that we already owe. Not sure why you lemmings thing that being a deadbeat not paying what you owe is a good idea.
Discretionary spending is already being slashed.Government employees numbers are notably lower than under Bush or Reagan. Sequester cuts are already coming down and slashing entitlements and military. More stuff will come that will move the needled in that direction.
The next generation will be worse off not because of debt but because of the gutting of middle class jobs that already has been happening for decades - and conservatives (or liberals) did absolutely NOTHING about that (oh, and that's what really drives the entitlement debt in the first place).

Sorry to burst your bubble about the big bad Republicans - but the Democrats put so much pork into this budget and you and I will end up paying for it. Reid inserted a provision to give Sen. Lautenberg's widow $174,000 - the dear Senator already left her millions. Obamacare will fill the pockets of healthcare insurers with another 200 billion in profits by 2019. So where you say the Republicans fill the pockets of corporations, the democrats fill the pockets of healthcare and pharmaceutical companies - but that's OK right. Meanwhile Joe Blow can continue working 2 29 hr jobs to pay his taxes so a bunch of users can get their free Obama stuff.

Completely wrong. The US had plenty of money coming in to pay it's bills. What it wanted was more money to keep bloated government functioning.

Wrong again. The sequester does not slash expenses - it only reduces the increase in new expenditures. There is no cutting of expenses - and that is the problem. Govt. employee figures are up - not down - and that doesn't include the NSA which will not even tell congress what it spends.

The next generation is getting saddled with debt that it didn't ask for. We are losing middle class jobs because of govt. regulations, political games and the inability of our country to compete on a global scale. Debt is only going to make that worse - not better. The 'give everything away' mentality is accelerating the destruction of our country. The military called our debt situation the #1 risk to our national security... and it is.

Not that democrats are any better with the "spending like drunken sailors", at least they're upfront about itt.
Republicans will tell you they're for smaller government/less spending, but in reality they're just for smaller liberal control/same amount of spending just on different agendas.

Oh I think this will happen sooner then children and grandchildren.. I think people are hoping it will be something that can last for years, this will all come to a end in the next few years.
If the Japanese (And now the Chinese) can buy our debt to support their Automobile Industry and Industrial complex for the last 30 plus years we may be able to keep this going for a while
