After watching the clip of the male Jets fan who punched the female Patriots fan in the face after a game, I'm curious what your thoughts are on how a man should defend himself from a woman who is physically assaulting him.
In the video, all we can see is this short blond woman running up to the Jets fan and assaulting him, though it's difficult to determine since the view is partially blocked. He in turn hauls one off and punches her in the face.
Most people are outraged and feel that a man should never hit a woman under any circumstances. Some feel that once you are assualted, regardless of the gender or size of the assailant, you have a right to defend yourself and hit back.
Let's set aside the fact that both parties involved are wrong here, and that this guy has a violent criminal past.
I'd defend myself the same way as I would if she was a man.
If you ball 'em up, I'm gonna do the same. You throw 'em, then you'd better duck because they're returning with the same bad intentions. Females don't get a pass. Why should they?
Don't wanna get chin-checked? Then act like an adult and keep your hands to yourself.
If any adult physically assaults another adult, they should expect to be greeted with whatever force is necessary to stop their attack. The skin between a person's legs isn't relevant when an attacker is threatening someone's safety.
I'm not an advocate of hitting women by any means. And given that by nature men tend to be physically stronger than women. Having said that at first I'd do my best to restrain her. However; if the attack continues or weapons come into play, well.... I'm going to have to defend myself. In short, man or woman, to avoid further conflict, it's best to keep your hands off of me.
Any person who attacks another person in a violent manner, which is what she did, has no right to complain when the person they attacked responds in the same manner. Just because you lose the fight doesn't make the other person automatically wrong. Women who hit men and then turn around cry victim when he hits back infuriate me. They make some people question legitimately abused or attacked women, and it's hard enough as it is to get people to act when it happens.
Just hold your arm out and push her away?
Feminism doesn't change biology; you are still bigger and stronger than she is.
Her butterfly punches can't hurt you.
You on the other hand can hurt her plenty.
