Did you know that… 65 percent of all American workers make less than $40,000 a year before taxes… (and) the average federal employee living in the Washington D.C. area received total compensation worth more than $126,000.
And the *******s will have you believe that it's the ultra-rich conservatives who are hoarding all the wealth!!!
Did you even bother to read your own link? Here's the bulk of what it says:
#1 The lowest earning 23,303,064 Americans combined make 36 percent less than the highest earning 2,915 Americans do.
#3 According to the Pew Research Center, the top 7 percent of all U.S. households own 63 percent of all the wealth in the country.
#4 On average, households in the top 7 percent have 24 times as much wealth as households in the bottom 93 percent.
#5 According to numbers that were just released this week, 49.7 million Americans are living in poverty. That is a brand new all-time record high.
#6 In the United States today, the wealthiest one percent of all Americans have a greater net worth than the bottom 90 percent combined.
#8 According to Forbes, the 400 wealthiest Americans have more wealth than the bottom 150 million Americans combined.
#10 The six heirs of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton have as much wealth as the bottom one-third of all Americans combined.
And you choose to focus on some government workers who are making $125,000--a pittance compared to the obscene wealth hoarding going on in the top seven percent--as the source of all our woes? They don't even come close to that top tier where all the true wealth is amassed. That's quite a set of blinders you're wearing there.
I wasn't wearing blinders just pointing out that government is becoming a major, major employer paying wages above what a majority of Americans make.
Also, the 49.7 million "living in poverty" is also misleading. Just what defines poverty? How many poor have cars, tvs, fridges, microwaves, and so on? Compare that to the poor in the other 90% of the world.

People with TVs and refrigerators aren't the problem. It's the very, very few at the top who are amassing hugely disproportionate amounts of wealth and leaving very little for the rest of us. Start directing your outrage where it belongs.

DC is pretty much government employees but the cost of living there is extremely high. In fact, it's ridiculous. I really think the pay is based on where you live. I know people in other states with government jobs and no they don't make as much but the cost of living and housing is much cheaper so it all evens out.

It doesn't matter IN THE SLIGHTEST what the Waltons have, nor ANYONE else. Taking their fortune away will not help a single soul. What people need to not be in poverty is to be productive, to have a job, and to not have what they earn taxed away from them.
I don't think there is, but a disparity in wealth like that is not good for our country.
Pure horse manure. It matters NOT THE SLIGHTEST.
