And just so that we have a control for "positive social factors," I mean low crime rates, low instances of homelessness, and a general higher standard of living.

I suppose it's all just coincidence or false statistics, huh?
It's all easily explained... But it is NOT cause and effect.

I suspect you don't want to disabuse yourself of some very, very precious presumptions that underpin your ideology, but if you want to discuss it, perhaps start a thread on "why are some countries prosperous and others in poverty?" and we can discuss the real causes. It is truly far afield of this thread.

Let's give the Leftists another chance to answer these questions …… or even one of them.

I've been asking (in many different forums) for years - What do you consider "wealth" and what do you consider "Rich"? I've never gotten an answer to that.

To clarify, zoning laws do not 'keep poor people poor', they deny to the poor the wealth-building tools that home ownership affords. Poor people who can buy homes DO escape rent inflation and they DO build equity as they pay down their mortgages - building wealth in the process. Home ownership matters, especially when the home is the primary wealth asset of most Americans.

Real estate taxes deny ownership to the poor as well.

Your housing issues do not impact peoples' income from jobs.

Especially in half the states, where rental property (where the poor live) is taxed at higer rates than owner-occupied homes.

Nothing. Housing is "consumption". That's not saying it isn't valuable, but it is consumption.

Do you have some point?
