One store. Most likely a local manager's decision, not a corporate issue. Whoopie doo.

It is a good move by this one Walmart to make it a more known issue with how little they are paying their own employees that they need help from others to put food on their tables. Too much money from our country goes to help feeding Walmart workers and other low wage companies like them.

Why not look at the employees instead of Walmart.
Walmart hired them; they applied to Walmart.
If they don't like the min wage salary they are free to quit and go elsewhere.
FF/retail has a 75% turnover rate.

You're all acting like these are slave workers making no money.
This is the US folks.
Walmart, just like Target, Kohl's and Macy's is doing nothing wrong and are following all the laws.

The link title is inconsistent with the body of the article.

The donation area is set up in an "employees only" area.
Walmart is not soliciting food for their employees.

It's employees donating for other employees.

From the OP link:

"Please donate food items so associates in need can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner," reads a sign accompanied by several plastic bins.
..
A company spokesman defended the food drive, telling the Plain Dealer that it is evidence that employees care about each other.

Not to worry, people! The cons on this forum, who universally adore and defend WalMart, also assure us regularly that private charity can solve all the world's social problems.

End of thread.
