While the organization's protocols may need reevaluating the current procedure is to not attempt solo building entry with an active shooter unless the location is absolutely known.

No matter how the movies portrays cops, they aren't rambos that charge gunning down all the criminals without a scratch...or maybe a flesh wound at the end of the film.

They are human beings, with the same limitations as the rest of us. The best thing for survival in an unknown location with chaotic information that might be wrong is having some one watch your back. Most people know the difference between fiction and reality.
