Country music singer Wayne Mills was fatally shot by a Nashville bar owner for smoking a cigarette in a non-smoking area.

I've been to some tough Honky-tonks, but this place is hard.

Should Mills have been allowed to open carry into the bar to self-defend himself?

A. never heard of this guy before. B. any story about this is murky & vague. This just happened, it's probably wise to wait a few days until the actual real & whole story comes out.

Yea uh, stating that someone was shot for smoking is a downright lie. The shooting may have resulted from a confrontation that started with smoking, but that doesn't make the shooting itself a direct result of smoking. That would be one f---ed up no smoking policy!

I'm sure the bar owner didn't walk up and just shoot. Of course there was a confrontation.

Sounds reasonable. I was at a football game recently and some drunk jerk up the stands from me decides it is his right to light up. When people told him to put it out he got all foul mouthed with them. Security (more like a SWAT squad) came and kicked his tail out. They should have shot him, IMO. Smokers need killin' when they won't follow the rules.

Cigarettes are nothing but slow suicide. Sounds like the bar owner was just trying to do a good deed and help a poor boy out by speeding things up a bit.

The gun conversation is that if there were no guns present, nobody would have been shot. There may have been an argument, and possibly a fist fight. But when everybody sobered up it would still have been cool.

Arm everybody and let them sort out their own problems and differences of opinion. I think it's a good idea.
