Many do, that is why many think gay marriage is right when it is wrong.
That is the latest movement led by Christians, the immoral anti gay rights movement....Basically it seems to me that in general Christians should just bundle them all together and call it the anti human progress movement.
Did you know that there are eight states that by law ban atheists from running for public office...How moral is that?
Harrier said that rights come from a source outside human beings(God or nature - take your pick).
You are the one who said that they come from people.
Of course unalienable rights have been denied throughout the course of history.
What do you think the American Revolution was about?
King George III trampled on the rights of the colonists, and they reacted by overthrowing his rule and implementing a government that would secure those rights, which is the sole purpose of government, by the way.
Now, what was it that you were trying to say?
Wow.
That was epic weaseling, better even that I expected. Well done!
The only time we assert that an action is a right is when someone tries to deny us (ie not grant or take away) that ability to act. So rights can be denied, but that doesn't change our view that it is still our right. Slaves had a right to freedom. They believed that, though their rights were denied at every turn.
Harrier disagrees that a right is only asserted if it is denied(do you only vote when you not allowed? ).
However, the bolded is well stated and spot on.
