......."More than 9,000 eggs were hidden on three separate fields for families to find Saturday in the third annual Easter hunt at the PEZ Visitor Center in Orange.

But parents blew off the staggered start times, designated by age group, and rushed the fields, tearing down the posted rules and leaving bewildered youngsters in tears.
....."

When will people learn that the days of offering free sh*t and expecting civil behavior by the freeloaders are loooong gone, lol.

Such a peaceful season, imagine getting in a brawl with the Easter Bunny, what a world!

Quote:
"JERSEY CITY, N.J. – A mall Easter bunny and a father who got into a scuffle have made their initial court appearances and had their bails set.
Kassim Charles, who was playing the Easter bunny, and Juan Jimenez-Guerrero, whose toddler daughter fell off a chair while getting her photo taken, are charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.
Charles' bail was set Tuesday at $20,000, but he was later released on his own recognizance. Jimenez-Guerrero's bail was set at $25,000.
After Jimenez-Guerrero's 15-month-old daughter slipped from the chair on Sunday, he verbally and physically attacked Charles, authorities said."

The first thing that popped into my head when I read this... it ain't only minorities low income people that act like this.

This is probably a mixture of people who are needy, with people who wanted to make sure their kids got something, with people who are hyper-competitive.

Egg hunts are a competitive sport in many communities.

Sponsors are often overwhelmed by the behaviors of the parents.

Surely people are not surprised by this.

From Black Friday to Easter Egg hunts - Americans act like Velociraptors if they think they are going to get something before someone else gets it.

This sums up the current mood pretty well:

"Silly Pez officials; have they not yet learned that any effort, by any one in the private sector or government, to do good for Americans will always be thwarted by mean people who exist to turn it into a mess? Look, there are just too many people in this country that are inherently hateful and greedy to expect an act of kindness to go unpunished. The mindset of Republicans supporting Trump and Cruz should be proof enough that a large segment of the population are mean-spirited by nature; they call themselves “the real America.”"

The opening of a store giving away free stuff. A complex with first come first serve section 8 vouchers. It's no different. Giving away anything for free just invites this behavior. People will camp over night just to get something they think is a deal much the less free.

Now if you really want to see bad behavior attend kid's sporting events.
