And then Obama tells you that he didn't raise your taxes BUT notice he did NOT mention payroll taxes. This was right before the election. If you were listening to liberal media they didn't tell you either, you had to wait until your first paycheck in January (after the election) to find out.

"we raised taxes on the wealthiest 2% of Americans in a bipartisan way, while preventing a middle-class tax hike that could have thrown our economy back into recession. Under this law, more than 98% of Americans and 97% of small business will not see their income taxes go up one dime"

--- President Barack Obama

Obama claims he wants to tax the rich. Obama is not talking about taxing the rich, he is talking about raising taxes on people that are trying to move up. Don't buy into Obama's lie.
Such illogical thinking, President Obama didn't say there was zero economic mobility. He said what actual research about economic mobility shows that it is fairly rare for children born in the bottom quintiles of household income to as adults get into the top quintiles of household income.

In fact, the greatest predictor of boy's income as an adult is the income of his father. This is what the President was discussing about economic mobility. It should be much greater in this nation.

Here we go again.
You are really hung up on this petch. If you want to keep more of what you earn, stop sniveling and get yourself a financial advisor. The only thing that's holding you down is your own brain.

I think you won't ever do that; obviously, you prefer to snivel. This is at least the third thread you have started about this subject.

as with most liberals, he just doesn't get it...once size does NOT fit all

why do liberals think it should be the WORST mechanic should be paid the same as the BEST mechanic,???...why are liberals against progress and success ???....... why are liberals and unions AGAINST "pay for performance"????

Dec 3, 2013 Blumenauer (D-Ore.) reintroduced legislation that would require the government to study the most practical ways of taxing drivers based on how far they drive.
Now that is just great... my work commute is 70 miles daily. More money out of my pocket...

Your taxes under the fiscal cliff deal - Economy

Tax rates: Taxes are going up on individual filers with incomes above $400,000 and couples above $450,000. The wealthy will pay 39.6% on income above this threshold, up from the 35% rate put in place in 2001. All other current income tax rates -- ranging from 10% to 33% -- are set permanently into law.

You probably didn't know because the wealthy are pretty much unaffected. A lot of people don't understand how taxes work so to make it clear--- That means income ABOVE $400,000 is taxed at 39.6% vs 35%. Someone who makes $500k pays an extra $4600.

Unfortunately, Republicans also demanded that the payroll tax cut not be extended.
you talk about people not knowing stuff. those people who got their taxes raised, arent the wealthy.

They are high income earners. Certainly they have more money than I do, but if they are earning incomes, they arent exactly rich. the acutal RICH dont get their money from income. They get their money from carried interest and capital gains.

those are taxed at 15% accross the board. INCOME is something people who dont have the money to have their money work for them (we call that the middle class.)

Obama calls upper middle class people "the wealthy". but they arent. so the actual impact to these people is to prevent them from getting to the place where their money works for them (rich)

Obama POLICY not his words is what matters. He has done NOTHING to curb the rich, but he has done things to block middle class Americans from BECOMING rich.

Parents teach their children. One childs parent gripes all the time and the kids learn they are owed. They will not be any better off than their parents.

Look at your parents and there goeth you unless you learn more and do something different. I know if I did the same as my parents I would not be doing well but my parent taught me I should always be able to take care of myself, nobody owes me, never depend on a man, to always be learning, take risks, read, there is more and better. They were right.

To liberals results don't matter, Obama is a perfect example of that type of thinking.
