You are misinformed. SNAP cannot be used for alcohol or cigs.
Use of SNAP benefits to purchase food at fast food joints is a state issue and limited to the homeless, elderly and disabled. Most states have not chosen to do so, despite substantial lobbying from the fast food brands. There's good money to be made off poverty.
There's food stamps and EBT in the same post there - EBT includes food stamps plus TANF and the TANF portion has no spending restrictions. So someoone might have $100 SNAP plus $100 TANF, and can use their EBT cars to spend $100 on non-SNAP purchases.
So your solution to make public universities and college more affordable is to reduce funding to make them even more expensive? Did you get your degree in idiocy or did you drop out?

If college loans dried up (except for pell) then people could only afford 1 or 2 classes a semester.
What do you think the college is going to do ? Close buildings and have mass firings and take huge cuts to their own salaries and/or face closure of their schools ?

Those with the least education tend to have the least income, so it's hard to say whether these people are voting based on their income or on their education, although there's a cliche that says people vote their pocketbook.
An educated friend - who is also a countywide elected official and a former county commissioner - claims that people with a lot of education and little money tend to be liberals. He used to have a large poster showing this.
Also, stuff I've read suggests that people with graduate degrees are slightly more likely to be liberal than conservative.

I saw a clip of Obama talking about upward mobility and that it's not possible. I am proof that it is. Unfortunately I am finding out that as you move up the government taketh more and more money away pushing you right back down. If you have dreams of moving up don't buy into Obama's lie.
