Oklahoma father dies in police encounter after mother slaps daughter - CNN.com

Quote:
It was supposed to be a fun family outing to the movies, but Nair Rodriguez's 19-year-old daughter got under her skin. They fought, she said, and she slapped her daughter.

Moments later, police arrived on a domestic dispute call at the Moore, Oklahoma, theater and did not confront Nair Rodriguez but rather her husband, Luis. They took him down, and after the encounter on February 15, he was dead.
Video taken by wife:

Lawyer Releases Video Of Luis J. Rodriguez who died in police custody - YouTube

Cuffed and on the ground, with pepper spray shot right into his face, with the weight of five(!) men on top of him. You can hear him say he can't breathe, you can hear him gasping for air. Meanwhile his wife is watching him die in front of her eyes. This guy was murdered. The cop's? Suspended with pay. America's largest, most organized and lethal gang in action. Sickening.

Actually your statement is somewhat misleading, the cops were attempting to cuff him. The video doesn't show the whole story. I would wait until the autopsy until jumping to conclusions.

And everyone seems to be okay with this , law enforcement has gotten so out of hand. I wonder when people will wake up and DEMAND something be done. There was murder done here , there needs to be jail time not no suspension with PAY. I hope all those idiots rot in hell.

For all those that repeated post anti-tazer comment, this is what is required to subdue someone without a tazer.

Missing a whole lot of the story here. Hope the FBI and Injustice department get involved with the investigation.

There are too many people in this country who have the mentality of "well if you haven't done anything wrong, then you have nothing to worry about" and blindly submit to authority without question. Until that changes, and people demand more accountability from those who took the oath of "protect and serve" then I'm afraid we're going to hear more and more of these stories.

The cash settlement against the department has to come from the police pension fund. Not the police operating budget, not the county they operated in, not insurance. When officers see that their future benefits have been slashed due to actions like this, and retired officers see their benefits reduced, they'll begin to clean up their ranks and weed out the problem officers. They won' cover for criminals in their ranks and they won't tolerate incompetents.
But many of you wanted a police state, some maybe you need to **** now that you're getting one.

Cuff him for what?

The man didn't do anything.

This is why you never, ever call the cops.

As the two on-duty Moore officers were leaving, a person ran into the lobby and told them about some kind of domestic dispute outside, Lewis said.
That person is as responsible for Luis's death as the thugs who murdered him.

How is it misleading? If the cops didn't kill him, who did? The handcuffs?
