Speaker Boehner finds himself in a familiar position this morning- trying to talk some sense into the Tea Party, this time, into going along with the Ryan/Murray budget deal:
This is a bi-partisan proposal that benefits everyone, and tends to prove government CAN function, so of course, the TP doesn't like it. Guess Paul Ryan needs a primary challenger?
Will the Establishment GOP succeed in finding a way to harness the TP's energy, while curbing its kamakazi impulses?

Times do change.
It wasn't so long ago, maybe just last week, the lbs were all agog about how the repubs walk and talk lockstep from the exact same page. I think they use the term "sheeple" a lot.
To be fair, historically the republicans have marched in very tight lock step. This is fascinating to watch just because of the sheer insanity thats gong to come as the right demonizes the far right-and vice versa.
Its like watching two crazy married relatives that normally are working together attacking some members of a family...suddenly turn on each other.

If it's bipartisan then it doesn't benefit everybody. Democrats don't compromise. So if Democrats are supporting it, that simply means Republicans caved in to them.
These are the people who said Republicans want to put black people back in chains, throw grandma off a cliff, breathe dirty air and drink dirty water, and deny healthcare to children with downs syndrome. Sorry to burst your bubble, but those aren't the words of reasonable people interested in compromise and proper functioning of government. Those are the words of someone who will say anything, no matter how patently ridiculous, to demonize the other side and get their own way.

And this is the problem with Republicans, it is only a compromise if it is only something Republicans would support. You should pray for the ability to compromise this Christmas.

What they said is right. Dems don't compromise at all. The R's caved and they did it ONLY to try and save their reputation because elections are coming up and all they want is to retain power. Both sides do this.

The Republicans didn't cave, you are just upset that both sides were able to work together...granted this still has to pass the House and Senate so there is plenty of room for the Republicans to screw over this bill and kill it in typical Republican fashion. That is what I am expecting to happen.

Yes, exactly. It's only a compromise if it is something you'd support. That's what a compromise is. Get a dictionary and look it up.
Your response reinforces my original point - you want Republicans to vote for something they don't support.
Clue for you: that's not compromise
