Detroit's abandoned buildings draw tourists instead of developers - latimes.com

It is unfortunate this once strong city could not get its act together in time, meaning all parties, political agendas, D3 management, and the D3 UAW, before it came to this.

On the flip side, at least this creates some interest, and a good case study hopefully, for folks in other distressed cities to rightsize the size of their government, and the health of their main industries, before they become the next Motown.

Why. You scared?

You don't need a "tour" if you wanna see the history of the city. Drive around and check out the buildings yourself.

Liberal cities/states don't learn from past mistakes. They just pile more on.

Looking at photos of Detroit, I do believe they've had them for years.

It could be a great drive-through theme park but they need to charge an admission fee. They could stage prostitution and drug busts, gang fights, looting, drive-bys, no-graduate high school classes, etc. and have classes on grafitti art and ride alongs with the police. You could take your own car in or pay a little extra for a genuine Detroit taxi cab tour. If it's successful as a tourist attraction, they could create a video game called Detroit which would drive more tourism to the city. Maybe there's an Escape From Detroit movie in the works...
