The only reason why homosexuality is tolerated here is because the United States is a Christian Nation. There's no comparison between the two fundamentalist views.

More South Americans are capable of getting gay married than Europeans.

There isn't one culture in any of those countries since they were drawn for geographic and colonial reasons and not cultural/nationalistic reasons I think Ghana has the closest to a 1 ethnic group majority where the Akan make up 47% of the population, follow by Senegal where the Wolof make up 43%.

Quite simply I think Amy Chua has superior complexes about her ideology, culture and ethnicity and haphazardly chose people she thought resembled her to cite as examples of superiority.

I think a lot of this has to do with self selection and colonialism. Basically the folks coming to America from West Africa tend to be the cream of the crop. Ghanaians and Nigerians are probably better represented in America since Ghana and Nigeria used to be British colonies and so the English language and British ideas and traditions are more prevalent there which is important since the US shares a common history with Britain. On the other hand Senegal and Benin were former French colonies where the French language and culture are more prevalent so I would suspect you would see Senegalese and Beninese as much more promenant among the professional, French Black community.

Yet another reason why I think Amy Chua reasoning is suspect.

I have to wonder about the motives of some of the vitriolic comments from our left-leaning friends. It looks like thinly veiled racism to me.

You cannot read? I said the entire world "has" recognized same sex unions. Who cares if there are countries that are so ignorant and bigoted that they discriminate against gays, The US is for freedom for all of its citizens, not just christians or straights, so if you want that kind of lack of freedom, then please leave, I am sure they want your kind there.
