Connecticut secretary of state says WWE apparel OK at polling places - CNN.com

Quote:
World Wrestling Entertainment chief Vince McMahon filed a lawsuit Tuesday against Connecticut's secretary of state after she said poll workers should enforce a state law banning campaign material, including clothing, within 75 feet of the entrance to a polling place.....

The controversy began last week when reports surfaced that Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz had told poll workers they could ask voters wearing clothing bearing the WWE logo to cover it when at the polling place because Linda McMahon is so closely associated with the company.

They had tried to ban voters wearing WWF wrestling T-shirts because linda mcmahon and her husband own the company. Rules ban campaign material within 75 feet of a polling place.

I dont think a t-shirt with a picture of a wrestler on it is going to intimidate anyone, or change anyones vote. A little common sense was needed, and it appears that the secretary of state has given in after a little pressure was applied

People are stupid as to electioneering, the First Lady herself didn't seem to know the law as she partook in it when casting her Chicago ballot. Boundaries of what defines electioneering should always be clear rather than confusing. Take one position and be consistent, no changing the rules mid-stream of a single election cycle.

It would most definitely be a good thing if people that actually watch the WWE didn't vote.
