Part of the AG's job is to decide whether defending the constitutionality of a dubious law is a worthwhile expenditure for the state. He is acting on behalf of the executive branch, not the legislative. You can dislike it all you want, but it is 100% within their discretion.

The list of first-world countries that still keep the gays in the closet is growing very, very short. But I understand Saudi Arabia is lovely this time of year.

You would suggest this a defense of the law? ROFL
some lines got crossed.

i thought you meant an actual judicial challenge being ignored, like when the courts decide to not have a trial at all. I thought i made that clear in my comment when I said he doesnt even have that power, but clearly you didnt understand me the same way i didnt under you.

And again, he doesnt have to defend the law, he just has to enforce it. Which he will do.

Working on saving money right now...Yes it is inevitable because the full on assault of whining and lawsuits and brainwashing thanks to the homosexual agenda has taken its toll on the young and uninformed in this country and they think its normal course it really doesn't matter what ANY person says except for the one wearing a robe and carrying that gavel. My favorite book is Term Limits by Vince Flynn..had some great ideas in that book....
How dare the evil gays fight for simple equal rights!!

Have fun overseas. Not many other first world countries who are going to have ideals you seem to be looking for though.

Do it the legal way then…call for a state amendment change and vote on it.
Shouldn't the citizens get their say ?

Maybe in your world, that's not the cut and dry way the USA works, thank god. We don't put every civil rights and minority issue up for a simple popular vote.

Actually, as the Attorney General of a State being sued, his legal opinion is very much relevant.

This is the legal way. A majority can be all for an unconstitutional law. It certainly has happened in the past.

That is the way amendments are added, removed and changed by states.
A vote by the people.

Or didn't you know that ?

As a Virginia resident who lives in 2014, I approve of this decision.
