If I were in charge, alcohol, tobacco and marijuana and all drugs used illegally would be illegal with draconian punishments.

The argument that alcohol is legal so weed should be legal too is a poor argument. Sometimes I feel like I'm talking to a 14 year old who just smoked his first joint. Next thing I'm going to get is an earful of conspiracy theories about the evil pharmaceutical companies.

I am not entirely against the legalization of weed and I say this as an ex-pot user myself:

There is one part of the weed VS alcohol argument that there is just no getting around, and that is the fact that one can drink socially and have one or two drinks without getting drunk or even the intention of getting drunk.

People generally don't smoke dope, socially or otherwise, without intending to get high and accomplishing it.
