Delivering a strong rebuke to U.S. Sen. John McCain, Arizona Republicans passed a resolution to censure the one-time presidential nominee for what they characterize as a liberal record that has been "disastrous and harmful" to the state and nation.

While McCain is a political star on the national stage, for years he has had to contend with vocal critics in his home state, who accuse him of betraying the Grand Old Party's principles.

And to think the Rs are always accusing the Ds of being rigidly ideological, with no room for dissent. LOL.

Arizona Pubs are gonna lose it big time as their state becomes purple.

Ain't gonna be pretty but it'll be fun to watch.

The GOP base is completely out of touch with both reality and the populace but it does not matter as voters are apathetic and uninformed. Being an "R" still means an easy campaign in much of this state, so the only challenge is in getting nominated. The kookier you are, the better your chances in the GOP primary.

That's no surprise.
Barry Goldwater, the George Washington of modern conservatism, admitted before he died that his home state would not have elected him nowadays because he wasn't conservative enough. They have slid even further rightward every year since his death in 1998. The Arizona conservatives in 1998 were nowhere as conservative as they are now.

I spent some time in Arizona, years ago. It was a happy place then. All i can figure out is it must be the fungus in the soil, the one that causes Valley Fever, that is the cause of all the anger. It's a pernicious disease that would make anyone mad.

Problem with Arizona is that all the rednecks from cold weather states move to Arizona when they retire and bring their right wing bulls#!t with them. Our license plate should read, "Arizona, Bring your SSI check with you and die".
