This values argument is like the homogeneity argument. Its a cop out, with no academic backing.
In Scandinavia, religion does not get in the way of common sense. Teens are well educated about the risks of sex as well as the best ways to protect themselves while doing it. The government makes sure all members of society have access to effective means of birth control if they want, unlike America, where only those who can afford it can get it.
America culture glorifies sex as much, if not more, than many countries. So this Nordic this and US cultural this is unfounded. Everyone is doing the same actions, but the poor lack the means to do it safely. Thus, they have kids earlier etc. etc. one of the main factors that is continuing this vicious cycle of poverty we have here in the states according to many sociologists and political scientists who study wealth inequality.

What boat are you talking about? I never equated wealth, or inability to obtain birth control pills with out of wedlock teens. I equated a lack of morals, ethics and a less moralistic society that was creating and even glorifying women raising their "love child" on their own.
Well.. not really on their own, these women become the welfare recipients living it up on the taxpayers' money.
And why are teen pregnancies very low in the Scandinavian countries, that have Nordic welfare systems?

Although Hispanics currently have the highest teen birth rates, they have also the most dramatic recent decline in rates. Since 2007, the teen birth rate has declined by 39% for Hispanics, compared with declines of 29% for blacks and 25% for whites.
