Please explain how a single person will need inheritance protections. Will they be inheriting their own property when they die? Will they need a special law to be able to make medical decisions for themselves? They can already claim their own SS, and they can legally adopt as a single person in just about every state. If there is a second person that they want to have the same benefits as a married couple, then they can marry that person. But just about every benefit and protection of marriage revolves around TWO people. A single person already has those rights.

And you have inside intel? Then in that case, where just outside of the Urban Growth Boundary were they looking to build a new campus?

Which special rights are you upset about not being included for single people?

The state got involved with license because of interracial marriage. Keep marriage in churches and out of state hands. It's just a way to raise revenue now.

So right, in California in 2008 for the five months it was legal, 18,000 couples wed and the license then was $85 and another $100 to get wed there in the courthouse. Those 18,000 same sex marriages brought in $1,530,000 for the state, not including wedding fees or ceremonies. In 2010 there were just over 27,000 marriages in Oklahoma and the current fee is now $50 for a marriage license. If they say added only 3000 same sex marriages a year, they would be cutting their throats by $1,500,000 a year, not including weddings or ceremonies and a ceremony can cost a couple thousand or more. It is pretty stupid.

So then, how would people who do not believe in god get married? The state was involved in marriage long before they allowed interracial marriage.

However they feel like they should get married. Whatever definition that fits them is the way they should get married.

I prefer a legal civil marriage, it is a simple direct way to join two people in marriage.

Me too, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Civil marriage works just fine as it is for both same sex marriage and straight marriage and would only need to be adjusted for inclusion of polygamy or polyandry if that ever got enough people behind it.
