Here we go again. They are just starting the propaganda campaign to justify additional spending on military contractors. If we just stop going to war every time we get a chance we would not need to waste all this tax money.
I think we could do very nicely by just telling China to keep their wars local (if China decided to conquer Taiwan or even Japan, I could care less – good riddance to our competitors) and if they attack North America we will obliterate them is a suicidal cataclysm. The last is crazy but crazy people are respected. At least they are when they have lots of real WMDs.

Why so? Perhaps it would give us a reason to go to war with them but there a numerous other reasons (and less lethal) we could find to fight them if we had to
When I was in the Navy 35 years ago the life of an aircraft carrier was 15minutes. It was presumed that because we knew twenty four seven the precise location of every Russian vessel including their (hehe) electronic fishing boats. We presumed they knew the precise location of each of our ships as well. Guess that is why the fishing boats were waiting for us when we reached our destinations. Nowadays, could they sink our fleet pretty quickly or visa versa? You reckin?
