Can you imagine what would happen if everyone started registering independent? It would really make a difference. But, people are to afraid so far to get on board. They are stuck in believing that their are only two choices when there is clearly not. There are more than 2 sides, and team C allows you to bypass the propaganda, and the paid to play bs.
Stop paying candidates to lie to ya. Why not vote for someone who doesn't have to blow smoke up your arse?
People need to start thinking as free, independent individuals, and not be consumed with voting for or defending politicians based on nothing but their party affiliations.
We also should have learned a tough lesson with the ACA or ObamaCare, and not allow ourselves to be susceptible to politicians who lie to us, while pouring honey in our ear with their vague promises of a some grand Utopian paradise.
Occasionally on these forums, we run across someone who will say something to the effect "Oh, I am not a Republican or Democrat, a conservative or liberal. I agree with the Republicans on some issues and Democrats on others." etc. This will be said after they are accused of being one or the other. Okay, I understand that because it applies to me to some extent. I'd say I am approximately 70% Republican, 20% Libertarian, and 10% Democrat. However, I would unhesitatingly identify myself as a conservative and a Republican. I just don't think the Republican party is taking the proper stand on every issue.
But I wonder if there really are people who are 50/50 (or 33.3/33.3/33.3) to the point where they really do not identify themselves with one side or the other.
And I ask because I am a bit suspicious of the "Independent" claim. I wonder if people use it as a cop-out just so they can say "Well, don't blame me, I didn't vote for any of the current elected officials." Or perhaps they have not researched the two (or multiple) sides of the major issues to take a stand. It seems to me that if you side with one side even just 51% of the time, that should be your side.
I consider myself independent. Refuse to register as either republican or democrat. But I am not 50%-50%. Life is dynamic and I take my time before deciding on issues. I don't jump like robot every time someone suggests small governments, cutting taxes or the name Obama. I am also not "libertarian" (whatever that means). But I am always suspicious of radical and extreme movements (of all kinds) that pretend to solve problems in one blow. Most of all, I refuse to vote for any candidate just because he belongs to one party or another and that's what separates me from the politically affiliated crowd.
Somebody quite famous once said something like "The middle of the road is the only correct course. The extreme left and the extreme right are both in the gutter!"
IMO, Demoncraps and Repugnicans are in the gutters, while the Independents are in the middle of the road.
I'm fiscally conservative. I don't believe we can help people unless we are doing well financially. Nothing like borrowing money we don't have. Because I believe our country is financially sick how can we keep spending. We are taking on way too much debt. Democrats pushed me further right.

Its means the person votes differently in elections. They have decided most modern elections which is why we get democratic and republican candidates. winning. Biden called it the political pendulum that is always swinging.
If there was a national Independent grass roots organization - not a political party - but one with hundreds of chapters in all 50 states, I think both the Dems and Reps will sit and take notice.
A lot of tea party folks label themselves as independents, but vote strictly GOP.
Im probably the opposite side, except I will vote for anyone, but tend to vote primarily Dem as they tend to be closer to my ideals. But It still makes me angry when they try and add new gun laws etc.
I've been called everything in the book.
