If not, why don't you just rest your precious little head, "Christelyn," and save us from judgments of what - in your ming - "adds value" or does not.
This poster here is exactly what's hurting the gay movement, or whatever its called this week.
Overeager attention grabbers think just because a person mumbles hes gay the world should stop spinning.
Who cares, what you folks do in your privacy is your business.
Time to act normal and maybe you'll be accepted as normal...if that's what you ever really wanted

I don't usually agree with Don Imus, radio host, on much of anything. But he just had a great statement concerning this.

Paraphrasing here: 'Wouldn't it be nice if at some point, this would all become a moot point?'

Yes, Don. It would.

Hey, I like the missionary position with tall, dark and handsome types! Quick! Someone call the NYT!!

Also, when families are strong, society is strong. Many of the current problems in the the U.S. are due to the breakdown of the family unit, so I think we all have a vested interest in encouraging and increasing healthy heterosexual marriages.
You sure do know the lingo.

Which banned member are you?

How is he not acting normal? Also what does "normal" mean to you because it is such a subjective word?

What does that have to do with someone being homosexual?

Fail.

"Hurting the gay movement"? Among who? People who are already opposed to the gay movement?

The needle of public acceptance continues to march forward, not backwards as you would have everyone believe. Maybe you need to step outside the comfort of your conservative blog world. You'll see a world you would barely recognize 10 years ago.

Read the writing on the wall.

This guy is one of a few more steps where gay athletes will just be another part of life. And then it won't be newsworthy any longer. And that's the point and the ultimate goal.

For all you and OP's whining, you don't understand how people like you actually ARE the reason why gay rights are still such an issue. YOU keep it an issue. Not the gays.

And homosexuals have stable families and strong marriages too. Maybe if you want to focus on strong marriages, you should look into cleaning your own house.

It's one thing to simply ignore certain behaviors, but it's another thing all together to actively encourage and praise it, especially when it's known that homosexuals have the highest HIV/STD rates in the nation, and the highest suicide rates as well. Why promote something so destructive?
Lesbians have the lowest rates of HIV and STDs of any group. Why promote heterosexuality since it is more destructive that lesbianism. Also you may want to look into the REASONS behind the suicide rates.

Homosexuality adds no value, so at the end of the day, why celebrate a man who declares he enjoys sleeping with men?
You're completely missing the point of why Sam's receiving credit.

He's not being 'celebrated' [your word] for being gay. He's receiving credit for no longer hiding his sexual orientation in a sub-culture that's not exactly known for acceptance of gay men. A fair guess is that gay men play professional football; to the best of my knowledge, not one is openly gay [for example, bringing a boyfriend to a team event or having a gay pride poster on his locker or [pardon the stereotyping] playing ABBA's Dancing Queen to get psyched before a game].

Congrats to Sam, and good luck

No its your stupid non stop whining that keeps it an issue.
I'm just saying give the guy his 2 minutes in the news and move on. Certainly there's a bieber story breaking now that you're interested in
