Elderly nun sentenced to nearly three years for Tennessee nuclear break-in | Reuters

All because she trespassed into a federal nuclear facility and spray painted some peace signs. Man, I'll sleep more soundly tonight knowing she's off the streets, judge. She may now be the world's oldest political prisoner.

So you're saying people who are responsible for graffiti shouldn't be prosecuted either, or just this woman?

Fine her, the church has deep pockets, but to jail her over an act of civil disobedience is ridiculous.

Do I think people should go to jail for three years over some graffiti? No, I don't.

No, civil disobedience would have been protesting in front of the facility, not cutting through the fence and going inside of it.

If you break the law there are consequences if you don't have a ton of money.

3 years seems excessive given her age, I would have done a year on her as a judge, but it could that she got nailed by minimum sentencing requirements, dunno.

Trespassing in order to make a non-violent political statement falls well within the rubric of civil disobedience.
