The bans are unconstitutional. It's really as simple as that. You cannot deny someone their basic rights granted to them by virtue of them being an American citizen. That's how it works in this country. Don't like it? Then please feel free to leave. It doesn't matter if every single person in a state voted to ban gay marriage, the ban is unconstitutional, and thus will be (rightly) struck down. People's opinion (majority or minority) do not trump other people's basic rights. Period. That's how it has always worked in this country, and that's how it will always work in this country. So all those "activist judges" are simply doing their jobs.

It's really not that hard to comprehend...
agreed!

This is why the Republican Party is in a steep decline in National elections. Because guys like Cruz push their religious beliefs on everyone and waste taxpayer money doing it! I heard this guy is running for president in 2016. No chance in hell of him ever being elected as president. It's scary to think people like Santorum (who is very similar to Cruz) came so close to being a front runner for president. Until the Republican Party gets rid of the religious tea party crowd, there won't be a Republican president anytime soon.

Let's hope not. Republicans would set us back 100 years if they could.

What I see is a lot of the anti same-sex people are so insecure in their own sex lives and marriages they feel allowing same sex couples to wed will somehow damage their marriage.

We have aleady been set back 100 years... with the current insanity of pushing to legalize drugs, homosexual "marriage," poor TV shows and music, etc.

It's silly to suggest that people must have sexual problems if they oppose homosexual behavior. You people are the ones with the problems.

100 years ago TV didn't exist, homosexuals wouldn't dare admit it, and marijuana was called loco weed because horses got crazy when they ate it.

That's what I was going to respond with. bigots lack the brain capacity for critical thought.

100 years ago blacks were treated unfairly and segregated, interracial marriage was taboo, women had fewer rights and you want to go back to all that?!

Homosexuals have ruined one formerly beautiful word "gay", which now describes sexual perversion. They are having the opposite effect on the word "bigot' which is quickly coming to mean someone who is conservative and holds to good moral precepts. Interesting.
