No, but she's a liar. Why didn't she tell her viewers that she has diabetes and had to take medication and change the way she ate. Many turned on her because of that. What would have been incredible was if she told everyone of her condition and her concern about their health.....then showed people how to modify her dishes to make them more healthy. That would have been really awesome.
She did, apparently you don't watch her. Besides, again, that isn't her job, there are a lot of programs that we can watch on how to tone down some of the recipes and make them healthier. We do not have to be our brothers' keeper. And we can judge what we eat on our own. Don't say, but some people don't know this: BULL!!
The best part of this article was the most scandalous moments of her career lol But what justice has been served. She was nobody until Food Network. She made millions because of them. She also deceived her viewers continuing to promote her unhealthy foods while battling Diabetes. Her recipes are some of the most unhealthy I had even seen. And we wonder why this country has an obesity problem
She deceived them also with her fake southern charm. Apparently, from a few released edited clips, shes got a nasty mouth on her.
More power to her, I guess, if she can make this kind of money for barely above average meals though. All it takes is a look, being good in front of the camera and a phony personality that will be liked by viewers and you can be a gold mine.
She and a lot of top cooks use a lot of fat and sugar in their cooking. If we, as adults don't know when to cut back, for heavens sake don't blame her. The Nelley's (spelling) did the same. I have 2 of their co cookbooks. I do not call that deceiving anyone. No one is forcing us to cook the way they do.
I am not a huge fan of Paula Deen's, in fact I really don't care for her, I never had, but she did get royally screwed. her comments were made many years ago, she was raised in the south, for heaven's sake and she was using a word she grew up hearing. Yes, it is a racist statement, no it should never be used, but it wasn't grounds for ending her days on the Food network. My guess, the network is struggling and wanted to do anything to try and bring ratings back up. I am just sick of all this politically correct crap!!!
And for those who do not realize this, she has never really divulged her political views on her show or anywhere else and using the "N" word does not make her a Republican or a Democrat, it makes her an old southernor.
Deceived? Charm means one can't have and display a temper? Ya' don't have a clue. Speaking of deceiving, " You like your Doc, you can keep her." Now, that is deception.

All Im saying is she seems to be a big phony. But I guess you could say that for many of them really.

you got that right: what do you think makes someone an entertainer? It is a personality that people will want to watch and a little extra charm. She certainly had that, at least in the beginning: That is not deception, that is salesmanship. As I have said, I don't care for her, but I understand she was a big draw: plus, she is better than a slightly above average cook, whether you like southern cooking or not.

This right here was a PR nightmare for the Food Network.

For 2 years she never told her viewers nor the network that she had diabetes. All the while she continued to show you how to cook unhealthy foods while taking medication for her condition. She's a hypocrite and that is why there was such a backlash against her. Her controversy with the n word just made things worse for her.
I think reality stars (and "celebrity" cooking personalities are among those) need to accept they have a shelf life. There may be fans but the truth is people want new faces, new ideas, new personalities, etc. I don't give a ratsass what she did or didn't do, but I believe her downfall was more about her time being up than she thinks.
This is all about being unable to give up the limelight isn't is? She's got all the money she needs, as do many folks who's time is over, but they can't let it go and get on with other things. Weird.
10+ years in the business and a fan base that grew twice it's size from the scandal. I don't think her time is "up" anytime soon. Yours is though.
