And don't forget that Canadian crude is mostly due for export once it's refined. Our refineries are at capacity now just taking care of the needs of America. Every time one goes off line the price of fuel jumps. What happens when the oil companies start using their limited refining resources to process Canadian crude for export? What does America get out of the deal except putting the American heartland at risk for next to nothing to gain.
If our federal government was not so hostile towards fossil fuels, and not making oil companies out to be villains, we might have more favorable laws and regulations that actully promote domestic production.

You argue that the President has no authority, I argue there is no restiction in law you can cite.
You can't be serious. If this is legal, there isn't any legislation he cannot change on a whim. This makes him a dictator, and our Congress just for appearance. Our votes mean nothing, and nothing Congress does means anything, because if Obama doesn't like it, he can change or ignore it altogether.

Somehow I think the solution to the outrages of the Democrat party is to make the presidency a 1-term position. It might even be a good thing to require some sort of rotation so that one party cannot hold the office for a total of more than 8 years in a row. Just think of the shambles the country will be in by 2020 if Hillary is elected.
