Is the free movement of labor a free market principle? Why shouldn't a business man hire an illegal if he chooses to? What business is it of the government to regulate the hiring process of a private business?

In the absence of the welfare state I would have no problem with it.

It's actually the opposite. Too many of them preach "supply and demand" when it comes to salaries, but then open up the flood gates with H1Bs to drive salaries in to the ground.

Conservatism, by definition, is hypocrisy.

The right-wing cherry picks WHATEVER fits their narrow minded world view. Unfortunately, everything about Conservatism is flat out wrong.

That is complete and utter ignorance, you propose anarchy and claim it's a free market.

Yes, this is it. I have always been pro-immigration in theory, but with our massive welfare state, plus an economy that is micromanaged by gov't such that opportunity is constrained, in practice I've become anti-immigration.

You are confusing corrupt crony capitalists who would abuse our immigration system, either by flooding the nation with cheap foreign labor thru H1Bs, or refusing to enforce our borders or control immigration, which also floods the market with cheap foreign labor. Both of which conservatives are opposed to.

Look, our immigration laws have a purpose, but the corrupt dems and the corrupt repubs are looking the other way and abusing the laws on immigration because it buys them votes and campaign donations.

But to people like you, the dems are angels and the repubs are demons, so you will never call to hold government accountable as long as the corruption is being done with people with a (D) after their name. Let me know when you take off the blinders and stop drinking the kool-aid.

Really dumb argument. As someone wisely stated, you can't have a open borders and combine it with a massive welfare state. True conservatives also want law and order. Letting illegal hordes in is anarchy.
