Considering the population of that country, manpower is likely not an issue. They can afford big losses.

[that's a lot of Chinese]

That's a shame. The whole word could use a bit of population control. Assuming every person on earth was paired with an opposite-sex partner, each pair should have only one child, and then the next generation should do the same. It would sting for two generations, but then we would be back on track with a manageable population.

Good, maybe Chinese men won't have to kidnap women anymore in order to get married.

Uh; war is more a young dude's thing. Older guys really DON'T want to fight unless defending their homes. Word is China's young pop under about 35 is less in real numbers than middle aged and old people.

More and more countries are less than 2 kids per family in 2014 so the pop explosion is def turning into a baby bust.

Or to kill off the men and fix the imbalance.

I just looked up an article on the imbalance that said there are still 118 male births for every 100 female births and that the imbalance has lead to bride trafficking. Women are being kidnapped or tricked and sold to men. You would think a shortage of women would lead to valuing women. Nope. It has led to selling them.

Not for 3 generations. Let's compare my dil to her friends who have two kids. She has six kids, if they each have only 2 children she'll have 12 grand children and if they each have only two kids she'll have 24 great grand children. Her best friend has only two kids, if they have two kids she has 4 grandchildren and if they have two kids she has 8 great grand children. If all of her kids breed for replacement only, because of ddil's decision to have 6 kids, 8 more grandkids will be born and 16 more great grand children and 32 more great great grand children (this is the generation where it stabilizes for ddil). If we can assume that great grand parents are dying off when great grand children are born the population now stabilizes because each of the 8 grand children being born has 8 decendents dying off. Ddil's decision has to echo through the next three generations if her kids only have tow kids each and so on. From the moment we have kids for replacement only, you will see a population increase for that generation and two more generations because the increases of previous generations must echo through all living generations before population change stops.

My mom had six kids. Each of us has had two but her decision echo's through our children's generation, will echo into their children's generation and then into my great grand children's generation before the population increase my mother participated in is finished. Count 50 years from the point of achieving a replacement birth rate until you will start to see the population stabilize. Not decrease. Stabilize. Just as the baby boom generation produced the bubble that is the echo boom generation, the echo boomers will produce their own massive generation. Yesterday's decisions are still haunting us.
