As pointed out to you, Mexico has high immunization rates. My DIL is from Mexico, and she says parental consent is not even needed. If a kid needs a shot, someone goes to the home and gives it.
The people in the US who are refusing vaccines are for the most part educated and should know better.
Outbreaks in the US are started by unvaccinated citizens or legal travelers who acquire the illness abroad and bring it home. It then spreads, mostly to other unvaccinated people. This year, a number of cases can be traced to the Philippines.
Because it makes the same recommendation for EVERY
nation, even "first-world" places like Canada and Japan.
Yet another pseudoscience FAIL.
How so? What did I say that was "pseudo-scientific"?
I don't have a problem with vaccines, I was just wondering where he was getting his information from. If you Google Mexico+Measles you will get results that illustrate a spread of the disease from that nation to other nations.
I believe the point that was being made was that we don't have any paperwork on the people who come into this country illegally and no matter how you slice it, that's bad.
I hope that every adult on this thread who is blaming "anti-vaxxers" for the recent outbreaks has gotten MMR boosters. And as to the claim that "anti-vaxxers" are responsible for the recent outbreak. Prove it!
Ummmm, so if YOU are vaccinated, what's the worry? Only people who are NOT vaccinated will get it. No big deal at all.
Yes but some people (like infants) can't get the vaccination and their only protection is for people around them to all be vaccinated. Especially since infants are usually the most susceptible to the worst effects.
Like those who think the best way to be safe is to drive versus fly. . .or think that seatbelts aren't safe(what if your car goes in the water, and you can't get out, I know I live in Arizona but it rains)
The damage that people without science and understanding is doing to this society continues. I know Bill Nye the science guy is worried about the future. . .
but these people are doing damage TODAY
Well if bill nye is worried...oh jeeze, thanks for the chuckle

Who do you blame for the flu when it comes around? People who didn't get the flu shot?

Apparently several of the people that got measles in California were intentionally unvaccinated, opting out through the personal belief exemption law. Does this absolutely mean that they were "anti-vaxxers"...no, but its a high probability that they are.
