US culture, yes I would love to see the death of Hollywood, mass consumption, addiction to Pop culture etc.
Carter wasn't nearly as fatally narcissistic as Obama.
That much is true. Carter finally took off the blinders when the US Embassy in Tehran was overrun. Two other things he got right was deregulating the airlines and railroads.
That's why Obama gets the moniker worst president since he has yet to get anything right.
only to be replaced by Reagan who talked small government and practiced big.
Yet he gave us the biggest economic boon in modern history. He didn't expand government, Tip O'neill and the Dems expanded government. Reagan was promised spending cuts as long as he raised the debt (sound familiar?), and true to form, the debt was raised and the Dems NEVER cut spending.
Reagan gave us the Young Upwardly Mobile Professionals and the Yuppie was born.
Now we have the Young Down in Moms Basement (YoDiMoB's?) who can't find a job, strapped with $100k in student loans with no bankruptcy protections to pay for that useless Liberal Arts degree the college matriculation said would be awesome!
I lived through Carter, and this is worse... FAR WORSE!

The one defining moment I had about Reagan taking office was how quickly Iran gave up the hostages.
That and the look on Rosalynn Carter's face when she had to move out of the WH. If looks could kill, Reagan was dead 20 times over from her.
