Today’s new term for “socialism” is “social justice. But it means the same thing prompting Sowell to say: “ Socialism in general has a record of failure so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or e vade it.”

The president has stated that he wants to fundamentally change America. Sowell puts this statement in proper perspective when he said: “ I think this man (Obama) really does believe he can change the world, and people like that are i nfinitely more dangerous than mere crooked politicians.”

"Social justice," "economic equality," and all the other terms we hear from "Progressives" are not new at all. They are as old as "progressivism" (which is socialism). But they get recycled to those who have not before heard those terms, and they sound good to a whole new crop of malleable minds who have not learned from, or studied history.

"Progressivism" is the antithesis of Liberty.

Social justice is about equal opportunity, not everyone having equal stuff. A system that opposes social justice would be feudalism. Do you want to go back to the days of barons, lords, vassals, and whatnot?

I'm surprised that there is still anyone who must ask this question, after five years of his reign of terror.

Obama and all of today's Democrats are unapologetic "progressives" (socialists). They despise the Constitution, and they hide behind a facade of being supporters of Liberty, they do not believe in Liberty at all. They believe in government. They do not believe in the "natural rights" as specified in the Declaration of Independence," but rather that rights are extended or granted by government.

Obama's "fundamentally transform" statement was a statement of the goal of "Progressives" to transform America into a progressive utopian society, where government takes the lead role in creating a "better" society, through redistributive policies, and central planning.

But, central planners have no incentive to discover new information. The result is not what is promised, but a disincentive for achievement and entrepreneurship, and suppression of the human spirit. This is why all socialist systems of the past have failed to deliver on their promises.

The desire of the human spirit is for Liberty. It is only under Liberty that true greatness can be achieved.

I refuse to comply with the "politically correct" thought and word police. I will criticize what needs to be criticized (such as the "religion of peace") and I will use whatever words apply to any person or idea.

Another thread grounded in the insistence of some right-wingers to willfully fail to understand the meaning of words.

That's funny. It is those crying for "social justice" who wish to give more power to government which is basically what them barons and lords were.

“The welfare state has done to black Americans what slavery couldn’t do, what Jim Crow couldn’t do, what the harshest racism couldn’t do, and that is to destroy the black family.” Dr. Walter Williams.

You have to be downright ignorant or pure evil to be a liberal in America today.
